ABOUT THIS SURVEY📝

Food Standards Scotland is the public sector food body for Scotland, and Public Health Scotland is the national public health organisation for Scotland.

Young Scot, Food Standards Scotland and Public Health Scotland would like to hear from young people across Scotland to learn more about young people’s experiences of buying food and drinks when out and about, or ordering takeaway.

Lots of things can influence what people choose to eat and drink, including what’s available, how much it costs, special offers and advertising. Together, these influences are called the food environment.

With your help, we can better understand young people’s experiences of buying food and drinks in Scotland, and the factors that influence their choices.

We will use these insights to explore what a better food environment in Scotland could look like.

Give us your thoughts and receive 150 Young Scot reward points as a thank you for completing the survey.

Survey Information:
🎂 For anyone aged 11-18 years old
🗺️ You can be living anywhere in Scotland

Survey results (including your responses) will be analysed and reported on by Young Scot and our partner - Food Standards Scotland. These reports may become publicly available.

Do you agree for your responses to be used for these purposes? *

Are you happy for your typed responses to be anonymously quoted in publications by Young Scot and Food Standards Scotland? If you do not provide permission then no direct quotes will be used but your responses will still be used in report analysis. *

Why do we ask for your consent?

It's really important that people responding consent to Young Scot (and others!) seeing the information you give us as well as how it will be used

What kind of information are you asking for, and what will it be used for?

All our surveys are completely anonymous. We won't ask for your name or other identifying information, so we would never quote you by name or even give your name as a respondent. We do ask for some information about you to let us check whether we've been able to get responses from young people in every area in Scotland, across age groups and ethnicities, etc.
We use the information the survey gathers in reports, social media posts, and sometimes to tell decision makers what young people think.
